Our approach
We believe projects are better when they’re shaped by the people who know the region best.
Our aim is not just to generate electricity for millions of Australians, but to develop projects that are good for local communities, the environment and Gippsland’s long-term future.
Here’s what you can expect when engaging with us:
- Open and transparent – We listen with an open mind and communicate clearly and honestly about impacts, opportunities and trade-offs.
- Responsive – We take feedback seriously and respond promptly.
- Inclusive and flexible – We create opportunities for people to participate in ways that work for them.
- Respectful and accountable – We act with integrity, take responsibility when issues arise, and follow through on our commitments.

Community advisory group
The Star of the South Community Advisory Group is one way that we listen to community voices, understand local perspectives and seek advice.
Meetings provide a regular forum for two-way communication. Members are briefed on key developments, supported to share information in their communities, and bring local questions and topics for discussion.
Established in 2020, the group includes 20 members from across Gippsland and an independent chairperson.
If you’d like to get in touch with the group, please email us and we’ll connect you.
Working with
Traditional Owners
Together with Traditional Owners and other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, we’ll work to shape projects that respect Country, reflect cultural knowledge and create meaningful opportunities.
Our projects are located on the lands and waters of the Gunaikurnai people, represented by the Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation (GLaWAC).
GLaWAC has been an important partner since 2017, supporting site investigations and cultural heritage surveys, advising on project design considerations, and providing input to supply chain and workforce studies. In March 2025 we formalised our long-standing relationship through an Engagement Agreement, enabling GLaWAC’s ongoing involvement and ensuring that the rights, interest and aspirations of Gunaikurnai Traditional Owners are considered in project planning.
We’re committed to a long-term partnership built on mutual respect, trust and benefit.

Local benefits
Community benefit sharing is about making sure locals see real, lasting value from projects in their area.
We’ve love being part of the Gippsland community and are committed to being a good neighbour and responsible operator.
Right now, this means involving the community in project development, hiring locals, buying from Gippsland businesses and supporting community initiatives.
If approved and constructed, out projects will be part of the community for decades. Local jobs, investment and large-scale renewable power are all long-term benefits that will make a difference. We’ll also design and deliver a dedicated benefit sharing program in partnership with locals, helping realise long-lasting opportunities and leaving a positive legacy for future generations.
